    Don't waste your money.

I chose this salon based on FB reviews and Instagram photos. The salon branding made it feel like they like to create natural, healthy looking hair. I loved the fact you can go for a consultation before making an appointment as this creates peace of mind and makes sure the stylist will be able to give you exactly what you want.

I had dark blonde long hair that had last been coloured a year prior. It was healthy and well looked after. I had waited so long as I'd been trying to make it stronger and healthier in preparation for my perfect colour - natural, summery, lightly sun-kissed hair. I had chosen this specific timing to get my hair done as a reward to myself for something and I had saved up for quite a while.

At the consultation, I spoke with the owner, Danni, who convinced me she would be able to get the result I wanted (dimensional, natural, well toned) in one salon visit and that it would be such low maintenance I could leave it up to a year before my next colour. This sounded promising, the staff were lovely and I was reassured that this salon was the right choice.

    I was wrong.

I took the owner's advice and booked in for a $60 Olaplex treatment in their salon the week before my colour. I didn't really feel like my hair was any different after the treatment but perhaps that's just how it is.

The staff in the salon were pleasant on the day and I was offered a drink which was lovely. The salon itself is nice and the location is good.

Ok, so let's skip to the finished product. My hair looked (and felt) as if I had dipped it into a bottle of DIY $6 hair bleach and not left it on long enough, resulting in half a head of blunt yellow hair. It looked nothing like what I had asked for in the slightest. The blow dry felt awful and the cut was hacked to one side. My hair was rough to the touch, unlike how you usually feel walking out the hairdressers with silky, flowing hair. You're meant to feel amazing walking out of a salon. I did not. The salon was busy at the time and I was too intimidated to say anything (as is everyone - there are memes about this situation after all lol). So $334 later I walked out of the salon with a fake smile, not knowing how to feel and trying my best to like my ruined hair.

Upon getting home I looked in the mirror and wanted to cry. It looked unhealthy and the cut was uneven. It looked cheap and nasty. Particularly when all I had said all along is "I do not want it to be yellow" and it was exactly that. Very disheartening.

The next day I called the salon and they kindly arranged a time for Danni to take a look. I had to take an afternoon off work which of course I was willing to do to.

Due to the amount of chunky blonde that Danni had wrongly put into my hair, she explained she was going to have to break it up with darker colour. She quickly painted dark throughout the lengths, even on my roots. She said she probably hadn't used the correct toner last time as it was yellow, so she put a different toner on too. The result was looking pretty much like my original hair, just much darker. All in all I had spent $403 to not really make any change to my hair, although the condition was 50 times worse than when I originally came in for my first appointment. She also explained that I would now have to attend 6-weekly colour appointments to put the dark through the lengths to stop the chunky yellow from showing through. What a disaster.

Overall, the result is nothing like what Danni had promised me she would achieve, it's in really bad condition and now needs regular dark maintenance (as oppose to the nil maintenance originally advised). When I brought this up with her she was rude, passive aggressive and didn't believe I disliked my hair (??). I feel robbed and misled.

Clearly there are clients who like Danni's work. Her techniques must work for them and their tastes. But if you are hoping to achieve healthy looking, natural blonde styles, a decent blow dry, or a good cut, do yourself a favour and don't ruin your hair by going to this salon.
